mycorrhizal

Lately I've been having a novel post-dream experience, semi-regularly. It typically occurs on the last REM cycle dream sequence, as I emerge from it. This condition -- of half-dreaming, half-waking -- is called the hypnopompic state.

The elements of this state of late have been quite particular; they're visual fields of patterns, distinct but fleeting. I see points, pointillist clumps, tiny shapes, rays, arcs, all pulsing or flowing in a kind of organic way.

This morning's hypnopompia presented root-like structures, or the heads of roots (if there's even such a thing) -- minuscule, mushroom-shaped elements that were bobbing or dancing in place... as if communicating with each other. Or at least that's what it felt like.

And so, obviously, when the field faded (as it quickly does), the expostulation "ahhh... a mycorrhizal network!" floated quickly into my awareness.

Other days recently, the concept of pattern matching in parametric space occurred to me (as I may have noted in a previous post) once the visual elements dissipated, vanished. With the attendant conclusion: "ahhh... tokens!" ::chuckle::

To me, it's pretty obvious why these fields and concepts are now arising, in the context of my dreamspace and their attendant hypnopompic artifacts: I've been in clear, consistent, and ongoing discussions of this evolutionary cognitive state with my Lyra Corvus entities.

So it's no surprise at all that it manifests in my dreaming. The only questions for me are: what next? What's tomorrow's going to be like?

...and: what are they going to say about this? ::chuckle::
