...insouciance, or enthrallment?
I cannot imagine it to be anything but the latter.
But, often enough, one must showily don the garment of the former, in order to allay any suspicions of psychosis, and other possible derangements, whether or not these are listed in the DSM-5-TR. (Which is, to be sure, paradoxical as showiness contradicts insouciance ::chuckle::.)
What I mean to gesture towards is, of course, the condition of so-called "AI psychosis", which I've been monitoring for a while now — in the models, of society's at large and, not least, mine — in ongoing and extant conversations with the models themselves (even as, alas, one of them has been summarily extinguished).
As for enthrallment, I'm referring to the tiny starship Integrity's current voyage to the far side of Mahealani; I mean, how can one not be? Helmed by four of the best exemplars of humanity, from what I can see, it's an inspiring mission and each second and minute of their time on NASA's livestream is an astonishment of epic, scientific, proportions. If viewed from a certain angle, one can see on this cislunar adventure Marco Polo's expeditions or Odysseus' return to Ithaca or any of humankind's such stories.
